The Salamanca area is home to numerous attractions.
* Gateway to Allegany State Park, which at 65,000 acres, is the largest state park in NY and the third largest national forest in the country. The Park offers beautiful lakes, forests, sand beaches, museums, picnic areas and naturalist walks. * Visit the Salamanca Rail Museum, a fully restored passenger Depot constructed in 1912, with artifacts, photographs and videos that help your customers experience railroad travel as it was 70 years ago. (716-945-3133)
* Visit the Seneca - Iroquois National Museum located in an authentic "longhouse" with exhibits that explain Seneca Indian cultural heritage. Includes a Museum Shop with authentic native crafts and souvenirs. ( 814 Broad St. , Salamanca , NY , 716-945-1760).
* Come in autumn to view the most beautiful display of fall leaves anywhere in the eastern U.S. Salamanca hosts it annual Falling Leaves Festival with craft sales, contests, music and much more. ( Salamanca Chamber of Commerce 716-945-2034.)
* And don't miss visiting Pumpkinville in nearby Great Valley (during halloween) for hayrides, crafts fair and much more! (Free Admission; 4844 Sugartown Road , Great Valley , NY )
* Home to a 30,000 sq. ft. Antique Mall with over 1000 dealers that draws busloads of tourists from as far away as Toronto. (Main St., Salamanca , NY 800-410-0273)
* Just nine miles from Ellicottville, NY , a charming four season resort with golf and special events throughout the summer/fall 2007. Also home to the Holiday Valley and Holimont Ski Resorts. (Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce 800-349-9099)
* And, in nearby Bradford , PA . you can enjoy the Zippo Factory Tour, the Oil Museum and Singer's Country Store. Bradford is a beautiful drive to/from the Red Garter through the Allegheny State Park .
